Please respond to each with at a brief paragraph, reflecting from both a clinical and personal perspective. Clients often get stuck in limited emotional responses to betrayal, such as anger, fear, or self-loathing. How can you assist them to experience a more complete range of feelings?

People seek therapy to help them overcome their inability to leave unhealthy relationships, jobs, or life situations. They feel paralyzed by enmeshment, ambivalence, or fear of abandonment. What can you do to normalize their reasons for hanging on and focus on what they'd need to be able to let go?
